Consultant Pediatrician (Full-Time)

Position Overview Alagappa Multispecialty Hospital is seeking a qualified and experienced Consultant Pediatrician to join our growing medical team. The position will initially focus on outpatient pediatric services, with plans to expand into inpatient pediatric care within the next few months. The hospital has Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) facilities available. With a large student population within the Alagappa educational community, we anticipate a busy and growing pediatric practice. The institution is also planning to establish a medical school within the upcoming year, offering potential opportunities for academic involvement, teaching, and professional development. Key Responsibilities * Provide comprehensive outpatient pediatric consultations and care. * Participate in weekend on-call coverage according to the hospital’s established physician schedule. * Support inpatient pediatric services as hospital operations expand. * Collaborate with other specialists to provide coordinated patient care. * Participate in teaching and academic activities as future medical education programs develop. Qualifications * MD Pediatrics, DNB Pediatrics, or equivalent recognized postgraduate qualification. * Experience as a Consultant Pediatrician with strong clinical expertise. * Experience in outpatient and inpatient pediatric care preferred. * Academic appointment as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor is an added advantage but not mandatory. * Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills. Work Schedule Full-time position with regular outpatient clinic responsibilities, weekend on-call coverage on a rotational basis, and future inpatient responsibilities as services expand.
